KCRF is a 501(c)3 organization dedicated to the growth of Rugby and the development of youth rugby and a commitment to community service in the Kansas City area. Established in 1992, the Foundation works in close partnership with the Kansas City Rugby Football Club (KCRFC) to participate in community service activities, raise funds, and support the development and management of a variety of youth rugby programs across the metro.
The Kansas City Rugby Foundation was developed in 1992 with four main goals:
What is rugby? Many Americans ask this question when the topic arises. The Foundations goal is to inform the general public about this great game. The more education opportunities (local matches, youth clinics, high school clinics, coaches clinics) we offer will only help expand the sport we love in this great city.
Fair play and good sportsmanship are a strong tradition of this game. Creating an atmosphere that helps our sport grow for all potential participants will give the sport a broader reach into the community.
Accomplishing these goals all require financial support. The Foundation provides financial support for the KCRFC at it travels and competes in their regular season AND helps the idea of visiting and hosting international rugby teams become a reality.
The KCRFC train hard year-round to compete at the highest level. The support of the Foundation allows the opportunity for the club to potential compete at a National and International level.
